Last week was kinda intense w/ longer hill sprints and a wonderful new time of 7 Am for Saturday long runs. Long run went good. The group only focuses on time instead number of miles. At first I didn't like that at all, but now I really like. It is more relaxing knowing you have to go for a certain amount of time instead of a determined distance. The head coach says it is all about "Time on your feet" not how many miles. Gravy also read you burn more fat when you maintain a slower pace for a long amount of time. Slow is the new fast for fat.
Long intervals today and a 3k on Thurs, and I am really looking forward to running with Cari here on Sat! Bring ur gear my lady....long run around the res here we come.
This week's words of advice I heard from someone who has done Chicago before:
1. Practice stopping and starting b/c the water stations get super crowded & you will have to stop
2. Practice running without an Ipod just incase your crashes n burns mid race
3. Plan out bathroom stops as they are miles & miles apart on the course
Welcome
This blog keeps us connected from city to city while we train for Road Races, like the Bolder Boulder 010.
We can motivate each other by venting/inspiring/advising and most importantly blogging.
From coast to coast, we will all have something good to say. Representing from the West to the East:
Flagstaff / Boulder / Boston / Ithaca / Albany, NY
